2 Chronicles 20:14,17 Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly…… You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”
King Jehoshaphat probably expected God to speak to them after they had fasted and sought the face of God. The Spirit of God came upon the Levite Jahaziel to reveal what the Lord was about to do. Jehoshaphat was able to witness God’s response to fight for them against the enemies of a great multitude because of his humility and decision to honour and follow God’s way.
The Old Testament saints had to hear from God through the Prophets, people whom He chose to relay His messages, and in Jehoshaphat’s case, it was the Levite. Unlike them, we are now very privileged to have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us as our designated helper, and the full counsel of the Word of God. Therefore, we should form a good habit of spending quality time with God for us to hear from the Lord personally regarding what to do in the particular situations that we are facing.
God wants us to know the Holy Spirit but many of us find it challenging to know the Holy Spirit because we cannot see or touch Him. Or we are uncomfortable with the idea of the Holy Spirit working in our lives. We can be too strong in our minds. However, we have the ability to know Him as Jesus wants us to know the Helper He has sent us. It is God’s deepest desire to journey and develop a close relationship with us.
Romans 8:14,16 For as many as are LED by the SPIRIT OF GOD, these are sons of God… The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God
The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Godhead of the Trinity. At the time of creation, Jesus was the Word and the Holy Spirit brought things into being. He was the one who brought Jesus back from the dead. There is a lot of creative and resurrection power in the Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. He is our Comforter, Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener and Standby. He will dwell in us if we accept Him and He resides in our hearts, so we are able to commune with Him wherever we are. He has a mind, will, emotions and a voice. To hear from God and be led by the Holy Spirit, we need to set aside time to fast and pray. We should pray through a situation until there is a release in our heart (i.e peace in our heart/spirit man). He will let us know what to do, how to do and when to do certain steps to resolve a situation.

聆听上帝 跟随圣灵
历代志下 20:14，17 那时，耶和华的灵在会中临到利未人亚萨的后裔－玛探雅的玄孙，耶利的曾孙，比拿雅的孙子，撒迦利雅的儿子雅哈悉。。。犹大和耶路撒冷人哪，这次你们不要争战，要摆阵站着，看耶和华为你们施行拯救。不要恐惧，也不要惊惶。明日当出去迎敌，因为耶和华与你们同在。
约沙法王可能期待在他们禁食和寻求神的面以后， 神会对他们说话。神的灵 临到利未人雅哈悉，显明耶和华将怎样行。约沙法 得以见证神的回应，祂为他们与众多敌人作战, 乃是因为他的谦卑和决心要荣耀神 并 遵守神的道。
旧约里的圣徒必须透过先知—就是神拣选来传达信息的人–来得到神给他们的消息，对于约沙法来说就是利未人。与他们不同，如今我们非常荣幸有圣灵住在我们里面， 作为指定给我们的保惠师，以及神真理的全权顾问。因此，我们应当养成一个良好习惯，花时间与神好好相处，好让我们能够亲耳听见主的声音，好晓得我们在当前的处境中该怎样行。
神要我们认识圣灵，但我们许多人觉得认识圣灵不是件容易的事，因为我们看不见也摸不着祂。或许我们对“圣灵在我们生命中动工”的概念感到不自在。我们的心思意念或许过于顽强。然而，我们有能力认识圣灵， 因为主耶稣愿意我们认识祂所差遣给我们的这位保惠师。神最深的渴望就是与我们同行并且与我们建立亲密的关系。
罗马书 8: 14, 16 因为凡被 神的灵引导的，都是 神的儿子。。。圣灵与我们的心同证我们是 神的儿女。
圣灵 是三位一体神性的第三个位格。在创世之际，耶稣是道, 圣灵使万物得造。使耶稣从死里复活的正是圣灵。圣灵 满有创造 和 复活 的大能。祂无所不能，无所不知，无所不在。祂是我们的 安慰者，辅导员，帮助者，代求者，中保，保惠师，和靠山 。我们若接受祂，祂就会住在我们里面，且居住在我们心里，所以我们无论在何处都能与圣灵交通。祂有 思想，意志，情感和 声音。要听见神的声音 并被圣灵引导，我们需要拨出时间禁食和祷告。在困境中我们要不住祷告，直到我们心中得释放 （就是 有平安在我们心里/灵里）。圣灵会让我们知道该做什么，怎么做，并在何时采取某些步骤来解决个某个困境。
