Joy – Fruit Of The Holy Spirit (Part 2)

Galatians 5:22-26 (NKJV)

BUT the fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

CG Discussion Points

  1. Explain the difference between happiness and joy. Discuss how happiness can be measured by the society in this world and what the determining factors are. (Gal 5:22-26)
  2. Discuss how the spiritual blessings in Christ that form our identity can bring about contentment and joy, despite the lack of job title, money or recognition. (1 Tim 6:6-7; Eph 1:6-7; John 1:12; Eph 2:6; Rom 8:39)
  3. How can you stay in joy when you face trials and tribulations in life? Explain what “stand in God’s grace” means for you?  Discuss whether you believe that we have peace with God and He is not trying to make our lives miserable through different means of punishment.(Jam 1:2; Rom 5:1-5)
