2 Peter 1:2-7 (NKJV)

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

CG Discussion Points

1. What is the implication of the veil in the temple being torn from top to bottom when Jesus gave up His Spirit for our relationship with God? Discuss how God’s grace (unmerited favor) in showing His Agape love for us when we were still sinners, imperfect in our own ways and surely not deserve it, may prompt you to extend grace, mercy and Agape love to others.
(2 Peter 1:2-7; John 19:30; Matthew 27:50-51; Titus 3:4-7)

2. How does being hidden in Christ, as illustrated by the Russian dolls help you to understand that when God accepts us, it is not based on who we are or what we have done but who we are in Christ? Knowing that we are partakers of God’s divine nature, evaluate if you have been exercising His characters particularly in love, grace and peace after becoming a new man (person) and what are the struggles you may have?
(Ephesians 1:6-7; 2 Peter 1:3-4; Ephesians 4:22-24)

3. Discuss how you can apply the truth of demonstrating Agape love especially in the areas of gentleness, kindness, graciousness and self-control for your loved ones, friends and neighbors to help them feel accepted rather than the need to earn your love in order to you to love or accept them.
(2 Peter 1:5-6; 1 Peter 3:2-4; Colossians 3:21)
