Patience, Kindness, Goodness And Gentleness – Fruits Of The Holy Spirit (Part 4)

Galatians 5:22-26 (NKJV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

CG Discussion Points

  1. Discuss what struggles or unfair treatments you may have experienced regarding your identity in life (such as gender, skin color, nationality). How can we deal with the root issues that result in resentment, rivalry, anger, hatred, jealousy and insecurity towards others by establishing our identity in Christ? (Gal 5:22-26; Eph 1:6-7)
  2. How can you show kindness to your family members, fellow believers, or co-workers, knowing that God showed forth His kindness to us by searching for the sinners like us when we were lost? Discuss how you can be patient with your loved ones who may be taking a long time to change in their character or to receive Christ.  (1 Cor 13:4b; 2 Sam 9:7-8; Rom 2:4)
  3. Explain how gentleness plays an important role especially for those with strong and domineering personality in having peace in their inter-personal relationship. (Phi 4:5; 1 Pet 3:4-5; Gal 6:1; Gal 6:9-10)
